Getting It to You, and Back

Delivery is arranged for each order rather than charged at a flat rate, so the cost reflects your piece, your location and your timing. Your options and their cost are shown at checkout before you confirm — nothing is added after.

Every piece arrives pressed, cared for and ready for the occasion. There's nothing to prepare on arrival beyond making the moment yours.

We recommend ordering a few days ahead of your occasion, so your piece arrives with time to spare. If your date is close, reach out on WhatsApp or at hello@borrowedarchive.com and we'll do what we can to help.

In Cape Town, return in person or have a courier collect from your address. Outside Cape Town, a prebooked courier collects from you. Collection is arranged for your return date — the last day of your four-day borrow window — so there's nothing to schedule yourself.

Please don't wash or dry-clean your piece before returning it. Cleaning is handled for you once it's back with the archive.

A late fee of R150 per calendar day is deducted from your care bond for each day past your return date, so sending your piece back on time keeps your bond whole.

Once a piece is with the courier, delivery is in their hands, and occasionally things run late. If your delivery is delayed or a collection is missed, let us know as soon as you can — email hello@borrowedarchive.com or message us on WhatsApp, and we'll sort it out with you. Where a delay is ours or the courier's, you won't be penalised for it.
